Writing hypertext and writing linear text are different. The author of linear text has a context; the reader has read the earlier pages in the sequence, but not the later ones. The author of hypertext has a dilemma. If he provides context on each page, the complete set of pages will be unbearably repetitious. If he does not provide context on each page, many readers will be baffled. Clearly linear text is here to stay
I hate scrolling.
What works for me is a next button at the bottom
right of the page, and a previous button at the
bottom left.
I'm undecided about whether it should look like
A, B, C
or
a, b, c.
